DEFY GRAVITY
Try scuba diving on Koh Tao! A RAID Try Dive is a 1-day experience taking you beneath the surface to witness the beauty that lives below. Try dives are perfect for those short on time or not quite ready to commit to becoming a certified diver in the Open Water 20 course.
Koh Tao’s warm, tropical waters make it the premier location to try scuba diving. In the morning, you will spend a few hours with an experienced instructor in our purpose-built training pool before heading out to sea that afternoon for the 2 open water dives.
At the end of the day, you will come back to the beachfront diving resort to debrief what you have learned. Now it’s time to enjoy a beverage at the beach bar, delicious food from the restaurant and watch the sunset over Chalok Bay.
No experience is required for a Try Dive Experience.

Must be a minimum 1o years of age to try diving.
Must be able to swim comfortably and medically fit to scuba dive.
Step 1

Forms & Theory
You will meet your instructor, register an account with RAID and complete the necessary paperwork before moving into academic theory and learning about how to set up the scuba equipment.
Step 2 - Pool Training
Next, you and your instructor will spend some time in our training pool. During this part of the experience, you will learn basic breathing and equalization methods, and how to clear your regulator and mask. The instructor will assist you in controlling your body position and buoyancy in the water.
Step 3 - Open Water Dives
After a lunch break, you will head out on our dive boat for an afternoon trip for two dives in the sea.
Your instructor will help you to equalize your ears, manage your gas, control your buoyancy and guide you through the dive site as you learn to defy gravity.
EXTRA INFORMATION
Flying after your dives? Be sure to give yourself an 18-hour window after your final dive.
Need a place to stay? We are a beachfront diving resort! We offer rooms from mixed dorms, double bedrooms, family rooms, and bungalows for weekly or monthly rent! You can book a room here!
Please keep hydrated. Remember to drink plenty of water before and after your dives.
Bring sunscreen (preferably reef safe) and apply it an hour before entering the sea to protect marine life.

Yes! You will need to head over to RAID’s website and create a profile before beginning your FREe-Learning. From there, you can download any and all courses that interest you and begin learning right away. You can even take the quizzes just not the exams.

The next logical course is Explorer 30, which is our version of the Advanced Open Water that the other agencies offer.
You can also take Nitrox or just go for some fun dives to show off your newly acquired skills.
